A strong advocate of the state’s educational opportunities, she received her bachelor’s and masters degrees in education at UConn; and her 6th year in reading from Southern Connecticut Sstate University)

She has attained endorsements in several key areas:

• Remedial reading teacher
• Reading/language arts consultant
• Special education, as well as
• Elementary education

She has received several awards and recognitions in just a short time as an educator:

• Lone Pine Foundation, Academic Gain Grant
• Elected team member
• Business/Education Initiative Grant Award recipient
• Prestigous TPSLD “above and beyond” award
• Past selection as Frenchtown Teacher of the Year

Selected as a member of her school’s partner action team that focuses on maximizing student performance and extend learning into the home and community. One of her guiding principles when a student struggles or fails, is “what else can i do” to change the phrase from “a student can’t” to “he can and will” Working closely with her parent and school community, she has earned accolades such as the following: Has a natural rapport with students and parents. Absolutely strong school-to-home communicator. Not reluctant nor afraid to take risks, or to reseach and use different methods, to reach a student. A great listener with her colleagues, not because she’s polite but because she wants to learn from them
